Second star to the right, and straight on till morning.

I started this blog off primarily as a record for myself, my journey to becoming (hopefully) a half decent quilter. Over the last few weeks I've had to remind myself, time and again, that it is the journey that matters, not the destination, because I've found myself becoming impatient to finish and move on to the next project. Luckily for me (ha!) my sewing time is limited by other commitments, so I'm forcing myself now to focus more on the here and now process, rather then stacking up quilts like notches on a bedpost! I'd be interested to find out how other quilters feel about the process vs the destination, is it an occupational hazard to want to get to the next project with so much quilt eye candy out there?

 

Anyway, I have completed the top secret birthday quilt, (very late) which I am really pleased with (thank goodness) and I'm going to carry on with the summer scrap jar blocks quilt I started in February, and also find a design to use with my stash of Anna Maria Horner fabrics. You know, the fabrics you buy because you love, then can't stand the tought of cutting in to them?

 The quote, by the way, is from Peter Pan. As soon as I thought of a star - based quilt, this popped in to my head and I knew I had to use it somewhere on the finished piece. Or maybe the quote came before the idea of the quilt.........
