Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness

Thank you for the comments and emailed messages, wow, your recommendations have been fab! So, should the machine fail to deliver upon its return, high up on the contenders list is the Husqvarna Sapphire 875 Quilters Edition, and the Bernina - model yet to be decided. It's certainly given me some food for thought.

This week I feel like an addict - my name is Kim, and I have been without a sewing machine for six days. SIX WHOLE DAYS! Gulp. My old machine is going in for a service as well as of tomorrow, so until we get back from our holiday, I truly will be without a machine. These were the last things I got to work on before my machine had a hissy fit - a doll quilt for Anna, and a Christmas Pixie. It's never too early for Christmas Pixies.

Good job I've got a bottle of Violette liqueur at hand. Have you tried it? It's amazing. The French company who make it also do a lovely Rose liqueur, and Hazelnut. I may have to try a few of their others this Christmas.
Soo, without a machine I have been making (and eating) too much bread -

And wandering the village, which seems to have settled quite firmly in to autumn over the last week. Complete with morning mists, wood smoke and glorious autumn colours.

The fox! I forgot about the fox! Last Sunday morning my husband went to let the chickens out of their coop, and found an unidentified poo next to the run. We spent the next hour googling images of poo (we're so rock and roll nowadays.) We're split on origins - was it a cat, or fox? The jury is out, but rest assured - Andy snatched the camera out of my hands before I could take a snap to show and tell. Aren't you disappointed?! We have a house sitter for while we are on holiday to look after the girls, so way up on the to-do list will be fox spotting!
